Since I joined the ProActive team two weeks ago, there has been a great deal of buzz around the office surrounding the company blog. As the newest member of the ProActive Business Development Team, I figured it was about time I introduce myself to our readers, as I will be an extremely active blogging addition to our group.
My name is Kate Parker, and I began working for our wonderful company two weeks ago. I graduated from Furman University in May of this year, with a degree in Communication Studies. Because of this, social media and marketing are two of my biggest passions. Like most of my generation, my attraction to social media began due to our modern day technology-centered culture. Prior to joining the ProActive team I was a brand manager for a very well-known energy drink with an extreme, unique, marketing strategy. Working with this brand allowed me to expand my view of the various ways in which a product can be marketed. A marketing strategy tailored to a company can be extremely more effective than using the traditional freebies and advertisements approach. I am thrilled to be able to apply my experience and knowledge that I have gained in school, the work force, and through my own personal experiences to my work here at ProActive. I could not have asked for a better opportunity to use the things I love to do.
Though I have spent the last four years in Greenville as a student, I am actually a Philadelphia native, so my work at ProActive is also allowing me to form better roots and relationships within the local community. While I am still getting to know my way around the short cuts of Greenville—and am suffering from Cheesesteak withdrawal—I welcome the chance to form relationships with our clients and the local tech community. It is my hope that you will come to enjoy my work as much as I take pleasure in writing it. I cannot wait to see what the coming year holds for me and the ProActive team, and to keep you informed about all the exciting events and advancements going on around the office!
